VDAB – Werken in de land- en tuinbouwsector provides information to seasonal workers on employment in agriculture and horticulture in Flanders. The service aims to explain the nature of seasonal work, including description of usual tasks, working conditions, wages, and rights and obligations, and to support jobseekers in finding and applying for seasonal vacancies.
Support offered
VDAB provides an online information service with sector-specific guidance for seasonal workers and employers in agriculture and horticulture. The service offers practical information on contracts, wages, working conditions, social security and tax-related aspects of seasonal work. The website of the VDAB gives access to job vacancies through the VDAB job platform. It also includes links to support seasonal workers interested in working abroad and employer guidance on recruiting seasonal labour.
Target groups and eligibility
VDAB targets Flemish jobseekers interested in seasonal work in agriculture and horticulture, as well as EU and EFTA jobseekers seeking such employment. The information is freely accessible online. Registration with VDAB is required to apply for vacancies or post job offers, and itis limited to individuals living in Flanders.
