Are you looking for work in the Europe? Europass is your one-stop shop for managing your career and learning path. Create your Europass profile to benefit from a set of free tools and services to help you reflect on your skills and showcase them to prospective employers.
Let’s explore the different Europass tools that can support your journey to employment.
Create your profile
The first step is to create your Europass profile. Your profile should reflect your full learning and career path. You can create CVs and cover letters from your profile and edit your profile information at any point.
Your profile can also be directly shared to EURES, where it is visible to all registered employers and employment services in Europe.
Build your CV
The Europass CV format is among the most popular and widely used across Europe. The CV editor tool allows you to create CVs based on your Europass profile, or independently from it, offering guidance on formatting and content to ensure a professional look and feel. Using the Europass CV allows you to present your skills and experiences in a standardised and transparent way, familiar to European employers.
Draft a cover letter
Europass provides you with a cover letter editor, which similarly to the CV allows you to easily create a clean, professional cover letter, helping you to standardise your application documents. The Europass cover letter builder is an excellent tool for quickly creating a strong companion to your CV that highlights your qualifications and experiences.
Set up a digital repository for your essential application documents
Europass provides you with a library to store your previously created CVs and cover letters, allowing you to access them and edit them any time. You can also upload other application documents, including certificates, diplomas, and other credentials and supporting documents. This makes it easier to manage or share them when applying for work or training opportunities across Europe.
Your Europass library also contains your Europass wallet – where institutions or other organisations can send you European Digital Credentials for Learning (EDC).
Record your skills and interests
The dedicated Europass ‘My skills’ and ‘My interests’ sections help you reflect upon your next steps, and how to present a clearer picture of your skills and strengths to employers. The ‘My Interests’ section also allows you to set your preferred locations to work, study or live.
Test your digital skills
Take a digital skills self-assessment test, based on the Digital Competence framework that is structured to understand your skills level in a clear manner in different competence areas. After completion of the test, you will get a detailed report with the level of your digital skills to identify your strong areas and areas to be improved.
Receive job and learning suggestions
Based on the information you have provided in your profile and in the ‘My skills’ and ‘My interest’ sections, you will receive suggestions for relevant learning and/or job opportunities, specifically for you. You can also use the ‘Course Search’ and ‘Job Search’ tools to directly browse opportunities available and save them to your favourites to apply for them later.
Create your applications and prepare for interviews
In the ‘My applications’ section, you can plan and manage your job applications, and create tailored applications based on your profile, CVs, Cover letters and other documents, creating a single link to share with your prospective employers. You can keep an overview of your job search journey and moreover make use of the interview preparation tool to prepare for the next steps in the application process.
Find more information and resources
The platform provides information on labour market trends and links to additional resources and services to support you in your career. It also allows you to compare the level of your qualifications with those of other countries, with the help of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
Share your profile with EURES
Share your Europass profile to the EURES portal to become visible to registered employers and access over 3 million job listings tailored to your skills and interests.
