Kompasset – Kirkens Korshær

The Compass

  • Project

Rationale and aims

Kompasset – Kirkens Korshær provides counselling, translation, legal support and advocacy to vulnerable mobile EU/EEA citizens, including seasonal workers, who experience homelessness or unstable living conditions in Copenhagen. The programme aims to support seasonal workers who have lost access to legal employment or housing by helping them understand their rights, access job opportunities and navigate the Danish labour market. The goal is to  prevent social marginalisation.

Support offered

Kompasset – Kirkens Korshær provides free, in-person support to EU/EEA citizens and third-country nationals experiencing homelessness in Copenhagen. The service offers access to legal advice, support with job applications and registration in Denmark, language learning, mentoring, guidance on rights and obligations, assistance with housing and access to healthcare. Kompasset – Kirkens Korshær also cooperates with relevant authorities, with support delivered primarily through walk-in services and outreach activities where available.

Target groups and eligibility

Kompasset – Kirkens Korshær targets vulnerable migrants in Denmark, including mobile EU/EEA citizens and third-country nationals who fall outside regular welfare and support systems. This group also includes seasonal workers in sectors such as agriculture, cleaning, construction and hospitality. The services are available free of charge to all homeless migrants, with no specific eligibility criteria applied.
