Rationale and aims
Sezonieri provides information and support to seasonal agricultural workers in Austria, particularly EU and non-EU mobile workers, to improve their working and living conditions. The initiative aims to increase awareness of employment rights and obligations and to support workers in addressing issues related to work, wages and accommodation.
Support offered
Sezonieri provides an online multilingual information service combined with free counselling for seasonal workers on employment rights, wages, working time, housing, health insurance and other practical issues related to working in Austria. The service offers legal advice and guidance, workplace mediation, housing-related support and limited financial assistance, and supports workers through online resources, social media information and direct contact during field visits.
Target groups and eligibility
Sezonieri is intended for seasonal agricultural workers in Austria, including intra-EU and third-country nationals. There are no eligibility requirements for accessing most services, which are free and anonymous. Legal representation generally requires six months of PRO-GE union membership, although this requirement is often waived.
