Rationale and aims
Seize the Summer with EURESis an event which takes place as part of the European Job Days, a series of online and sometimes onsite recruitment events organised by EURES. It provides seasonal workers in the tourism, hospitality and catering sectors with information on job opportunities across EU/EEA countries and on their rights and obligations. The initiative aims to support transnational mobility by connecting jobseekers with employers and addressing staff shortages in these sectors through targeted recruitment support.
Support offered
Seize the Summer with EURES provides an annual full-day online recruitment event that supports seasonal workers and employers with job matching and recruitment in the tourism, hospitality and catering sectors. The initiative offers online presentations and direct online discussions with employers and EURES teams, providing practical information on vacancies, working conditions, and the rights and obligations of seasonal workers and employers. Seize the Summer with EURES started as an initiative covering employers from Portugal, Spain, Slovenia and Croatia but now allows employers from other of EU/EEA countries with a strong interest and/or experience in recruiting seasonal workers operating in the sectors.
Target groups and eligibility
The initiative targets transnational mobile workers interested in seasonal employment in the tourism, hospitality and catering sectors, as well as employers in these sectors from selected EU/EEA countries. Participation is open to all interested workers who register in advance, while employers must be legally registered, have relevant vacancies, and be selected by the organising countries based on predefined criteria.
