Rationale and aims
International Citizen Service provides a single point of contact that supports international citizens, including seasonal workers, with settlement-related administrative needs when staying in Denmark for more than three months. The service aims to simplify access to registration, legal guidance and labour market information that are relevant for taking up and carrying out seasonal work.
Support offered
International Citizen Service provides in-person and online support to international citizens, including seasonal workers, through dedicated centres and an official website. The service offers assistance with registration and access to public services, guidance on rights and obligations on the Danish labour market, job search support. It also provides information on practical aspects of living and working in Denmark, free of charge.
Target groups and eligibility
International Citizen Service targets new residents of all nationalities who arrive in Denmark to work, including to perform seasonal work, or to study for a period exceeding three months. Any non-Danish citizen may use the service, with eligibility and available support varying depending on whether the individual is a Nordic citizen, an EU/EEA citizen or a non-EU/EEA citizen.
