Rationale and aims
Servicestelle Arbeitnehmerfreizügigkeit von Arbeit und Leben Hamburg provides free, multilingual legal and social security advice to intra-EU mobile and seasonal workers to prevent labour exploitation and promote fair working conditions. It aims to support workers in understanding and enforcing their rights in employment and social security matters.
Support offered
Servicestelle Arbeitnehmerfreizügigkeit von Arbeit und Leben Hamburg provides free counselling and advice on labour law and social security for EU mobile and seasonal workers via phone, email and in-person services. The service supports workers and employers by addressing employment-related issues, providing information on rights and obligations, and assisting workers in preparing documentation in cases of labour exploitation.
Target groups and eligibility
The initiative targets intra-EU mobile workers, including seasonal and posted workers, particularly from Eastern EU Member States as well as Spain and Italy, and individuals who are victims of labour exploitation or trafficking. There are no strict eligibility requirements, but the service is intended for intra-EU mobile workers seeking labour law or employment-related support. Individuals identified as third country nationals are redirected to relevant services.
