France Travail’s support for seasonal employment

  • Project

Rationale and aims

France Travail’s support for seasonal employment provides information, tools and training to address the specific challenges of seasonal work, including short contract durations, fluctuating labour demand and geographic mobility. The initiative aims to improve access to employment opportunities, housing and skills development for seasonal workers, particularly in tourism and hospitality, and to support continuity and attractiveness of seasonal employment.

Support offered

France Travail’s support for seasonal employment provides online platforms and information services that help seasonal workers find jobs, access recruitment events, and identify available housing, mobility and childcare support. The service also offers tailored training linked to specific job opportunities to help registered jobseekers acquire skills aligned with employer needs before starting a contract.

Target groups and eligibility

The initiative targets seasonal workers, with a particular focus on those in tourism and hospitality, including work in mountain resorts. Most tools are accessible online without formal eligibility conditions. Access to training support is limited to jobseekers who are registered with France Travail and reside in France, including intra-EU mobile workers living in France.
