Rationale and aims
Cearta Fostaíochta Oibrithe Séasúracha in Éirinn provides seasonal workers with clear information on their employment rights and entitlements, including pay, working time and related employer obligations. It aims to support seasonal workers in understanding their rights and knowing where to obtain further information or submit complaints to the competent authorities.
Support offered
Cearta Fostaíochta Oibrithe Séasúracha in Éirinn was developed as part of the #Rights4AllSeasons campaign that was organised by the European Labour Authority to promote fair and safe working conditions for seasonal workers. The initiative provides an online information resource outlining the rights and entitlements of seasonal workers and the obligations of their employers. It offers guidance on working conditions, pay, working hours, employment permits for non‑EU nationals. Additionally, it provides access to further information or complaint mechanisms and directs users to relevant public authorities for employment and occupational safety matters.
Target groups and eligibility
The initiative is intended for seasonal workers coming to work in Ireland, including EU/EFTA and non‑EU nationals, as well as employers of seasonal workers. It is publicly available online and free of charge, with no eligibility conditions required to access the information.
